Occoquan Regional Park

The Beehive Brick Kiln Marker.  This is one of 9 kilns that were operated by inmates of the Lorton correctional facility until the late 1960's.  The kiln had the capacity of approximately 12,000 bricks.  The railroad tracks go only approximately 500 feet from the kiln.
Perhaps a wagon used to transport the bricks?
The chimney behind the Beehive Brick Kiln.
 Air vents.
The Clubhouse adjacent to the boat dock at Occoquan.
 My new toy...
To live on the river....must be nice!
This building was tucked away along the walkway in the park.
Nice roses.

More nice roses...

  1. Great shots! I like the brick kiln and rusted bars over the window! You totally beat me to that park-- we were headed there yesterday and turned around because the traffic was so bad! Now you need to go into the blog settings and add the widget that lets people follow your blog.
